If you normally play big families, there's not much for you since the systems in it are very focused on the performance careers, leaving you with just access to Genies (my second-favorite occult, though you need Supernatural if you want to start as one) and the CAS/Build/Buy catalogues (which is quite good, including a 7 Energy double bed for $560 with a style that will look good in almost any house). Like with Ambitions, Showtime is worth it if you tend mostly to play single Sims (or very small, easy to manage families). Think of them as a Late Night band with only one member. Celebrity is from Late Night and has nothing to do with Showtime, though you tend to gain lots of friends (which contributes to Celebrity) through the performance careers, IIRC.
